With the migration tool you convert a classic flow, one at a time, into a workflow on the canvas. You cannot migrate flows with steps that have no working node yet; the tool tells you which steps these are. Until then, classic flows keep running and you change them in the old portal.
How to migrate a flow
- In the test environment, go to Workflows > Migrate.
- Choose the classic flow. For each step, the tool shows which node replaces it and whether the whole flow can be migrated.
- Start the migration. A new workflow (draft) is created with the same steps as nodes and edges.
- Check the canvas: fallback steps are converted to edges on not sent, checks to Logic nodes, wait times to Wait nodes.
- Test the workflow with a few collection orders and publish it. See Testing a workflow.
- Let new collection orders start in the workflow and let running collection orders finish in the classic flow, or switch them to the workflow.
Which steps are covered
The twelve core nodes cover most of the flow steps in use (email, SMS, letter, wait, checks, calculations, costs, tasks, switch). Steps such as calling, collection agency, early detection, enrichment and Bancontact Pay will get their own node in a later version; flows with such steps wait until those nodes are available. See Nodes that are coming.
Transition steps during the migration
- Classic flow to workflow: the classic flow step "Switch to workflow" moves a collection order from a classic flow to the start node of a workflow.
- Workflow to classic flow: the Switch workflow node in Classic flow mode moves a collection order back into a classic flow at a chosen step, for example for a step that has no node yet. See Node: Switch workflow.
- Starting workflow or starting flow: a client has at most one of the two as the default.
Good to know
- A migrated workflow is a copy. The classic flow stays until you archive it in the old portal.
- Migrate one flow at a time and start with the simplest one; this way you get to know the nodes before you convert complex routes.
- If you have questions about a specific step, your consultant helps you design the workflow version.
