In the editor you drag nodes onto the canvas, connect them and set them up in the sidebar. The top bar shows the name and the buttons to save and publish; the gear icon opens the workflow settings.
Parts of the screen
| Part | What you do there |
|---|---|
| Top bar | Name of the workflow, save, publish, gear icon for workflow settings |
| Canvas | Place, move and connect nodes; zoom in and out with the mouse wheel, move around by dragging |
| + Node | Opens the catalog with all nodes and a short explanation of each node |
| Right-click on the canvas | Quick menu with the most used nodes |
| Sidebar | Settings of the selected node; the node stays visible while you set it up |
| Question mark next to a field | Explanation of that setting |
The node itself shows one or two basic settings (for example the template); all other settings are in the sidebar.
How to build
- Add a node: click + Node and choose a node, or right-click on the spot where the node should go.
- Connect: drag from a port (right) to the input (left) of another node. Each input can receive several edges; each port can lead to one next node.
- Set up: click the node and fill in the sidebar. Required fields are marked; a node with a missing setting shows a warning.
- Delete: select a node or edge and press Delete.
- Save: you cannot save a workflow while it has a validation error (for example percentages in an A/B test that do not add up to 100).
Explanations on the canvas
Place a Note node to explain why a part of the workflow is built the way it is. Notes do nothing when the workflow runs. See Node: Note.
Good to know
- You always edit in the test environment; in production the editor is read-only.
- Advanced settings of message nodes (such as the bounce processing period) are behind a collapsible heading and are filled in beforehand; you do not need to fill them in to create a workflow.
- Convenience features such as a minimap, undo, copy and paste, and selecting several nodes at once are planned for a later version.
