Test a workflow in the test environment with a real test collection order: deliver a collection order with your own contact info, let it run through the workflow, simulate a payment or no payment, and check on the canvas which path it followed.
Step by step
- Check the validation. Save the workflow; the editor reports missing templates, empty required fields and wrong percentages.
- Create test collection orders. Deliver a few collection orders with a file, each with a different situation: with and without an email address, high and low amount, another language. Use your own email address and phone number. See What is coming.
- Start the workflow for those collection orders (when you deliver them or from the customer page).
- Follow the collection orders on the customer page and on the canvas: is the path right, is the template right, is the due date right?
- Simulate outcomes. Pay with Simulate transaction on the payment page; let another collection order expire; test a bounce with an invalid email address.
- Check the tasks that are created (for example No contact data) and the messages in Quality control.
- Adjust, save and repeat until everything is right. Then publish.
Testing faster
- Set wait times to minutes instead of days for a while; do not forget to set them back before you publish.
- Use a Note node to write down what you still need to test.
- You can follow a workflow with few collection orders step by step on the canvas with View on canvas.
Good to know
- Send days and send hours also apply in test. Set them wide in the test environment, so messages go out right away.
- In the test environment the maximum is 1,000 collection orders per file.
- A test mode to start a workflow from a chosen node with a chosen collection order will come in a later version.
