Do you agree with a customer that they will pay in terms? Then you create a settlement in the collection order panel with Create settlement. You choose a settlement profile and the number of terms, and the portal calculates the dates.
How to do it
- Open the customer and open the collection order. The button is only there for an active collection order.
- At the top of the collection order panel, click Create settlement (layers icon).
- Choose the Settlement profile. The default profile is already selected (badge Default profile).
- Use the slider at Terms to choose the number of terms. You can choose between the minimum and maximum of the profile.
- Check the table with the Send date, the Due date and the Amount for each term. You can change the amount for each term. The portal calculates the dates.
- Click Save. You see the message "Settlement successfully started".
Good to know
- If you choose a different profile, the portal calculates the dates again.
- After the start you see a section in the collection order panel with the terms and their status, and the buttons Edit settlement and Cancel settlement. See Editing or cancelling a settlement.
- While the settlement is running, the flow skips steps that would change the collection order. The timeline then shows, for example, "Step Switch flow was not executed because a payment plan is active".
- You cannot edit invoice lines while a settlement is running.
- The profile determines how the terms are calculated and what happens when a term is missed. See Settlement profiles explained.
